Artist's Inner Monologue:

“Lerato la Malatsi a Pele” is my way of holding onto the fragile magic of beginnings.Those first days when love feels weightless, unguarded and full of possibilities.In my own life, I’m drawn to that brief window where connection is untouched by expectation, where two people meet in their simplest, softest form. This work is an attempt to protect that innocence, to honour how deeply I wish those early moments could stretch themselves across time. I once read somewhere that sometimes, the spark of first love can return when there’s a little distance ,that absence can renew what closeness slowly wears down. I’ve been turning that over in my mind,like, if I truly love something, can I trust it enough to step back, believing it will return brighter? Or is love too delicate for that kind of faith? But can the beauty of the beginning ever truly survive the journey that follows? And what happens if the very thing I let go, hoping to save it, never finds its way back?
